435 Automatic Speed Enforcement Systems

Description

The project involves installation and maintenance of 435 fixed speed cameras in both urban and rural roadways in Abu Dhabi Emirate. The new cameras have different functions and capabilities including the ability to apply the concept of section control (point-to-point) speed enforcement, tailgating traffic enforcement, and anti-vandalism system.

Main Scope

• Consultancy services for the best selection of the system’s locations to maximize the benefits of the installed systems. The studies considered the crash history, traffic volumes, traffic violations, road geometry, power availability, site investigations.
• Installation of new cameras with full speed enforcement system, replacement of existing cameras, upgrade the existing cameras with P2P capability and upgrade existing cameras with tailgating capability. For roads without power sources, solar systems are provided.
